Pearl Jam Still Rocks Harder
One of the best concerts I've ever attended, hands down, was this. I expected Sam Grisman Project to be a little jaded, a little less enthusiastic since they have avoided the spotlight for so many years. But this band performed like they were playing all of their songs for the first time, and they played a lot of their hits-- Even Flow, Alive, Daughter, Given to Fly, Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town, and Yellow Ledbetter. Doing scissor kicks off amps, running around the stage, all the band members had a high energy. Eddie Vedder danced all night long, bopping his head and raising his arms in passion. So personable and nice, Vedder came off as. He often stopped, and just talked to the crowd. The bottom line is that this band was sharp, fun, and high-energy. They jammed out their songs and acted like there was no place in the world they would rather be. I can't imagine any of their concerts in the 90s being better than the one I attended.
